Fakieh Feed Factory

Saudi Arabia

Fakieh Poultry Farms co. from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is one of the largest integrated poultry producers in the Middle East. In addition to its own hatcheries, farms and slaughterhouses, the company also has its own feed factory. Due to further expansion, it was decided to build a second, entirely new compound feed factory. The new feed factory is designed to produce at least 120 tonnes per hour of broiler feed. In addition, the plant is equipped with a complete 30 tonnes per hour plant for the production of structured layer mash, complete with a heat-treatment installation for the destruction of salmonella and other pathogens.

Grinding, mixing and pressing
To meet the required capacity, the factory uses three grind/mix lines with four high-efficiency hammer mills and single shaft paddle mixers, capable of meeting the most stringent accuracy demands. These lines supply product to three press lines as well as other processes. Extra space has also been reserved for a potential fourth line.

Finished product
The finished product is stored in a silo block that supplies three loading bays. The bulk trucks, which are positioned on electronic weighbridges, are loaded via two stationary conveyor belts and a movable belt at a rate of more than 120 tonnes per hour. This bulk loading method yields efficiency benefits for trucks with multiple compartments.

Automation and Control
Automated by Inteqnion, the entire process is equipped with a SCADA system combined with the integrated control package Batch Explorer. The factory is extensively automated to minimize workforce requirements. The processes can be remote controlled with personal computers from an office.
