From grain to feed

Chain Conveyor

Ottevanger Chain Conveyors provide reliable horizontal and slight incline transport of bulk materials over long distances. A fully enclosed coated S235 steel trough, wear components, and positive chain tensioning ensure stable throughput and long service life. Capacity is up to 400 m³/h, with multiple widths and speeds to match your layout and product.

  • Low dust, low maintenance, long service life
  • Modular widths, speeds & discharge points
  • ATEX, stainless & all-weather executions

Design & Operation

General

Built for uptime, the conveyor uses a welded, fully clad trough to contain material and reduce dust. A gearmotor drive with flexible coupling transmits power smoothly. HPME wear plates and C45 guide strips protect high-wear areas, while an overflow valve and chain tensioner safeguard operation. Optional intermediate outlets and recirculation arrangements provide flexible routing and controlled discharge throughout the plant.

Typical operation: 0.3–0.5 m/s conveying speed; widths and pitches selected to meet the required capacity and footprint.

Standard features: S235 steel trough (fully enclosed); primer + paint finish; geared drive units; flexible coupling; HPME wear plate; guide strips (C45); overflow valve; chain tensioner.

Performance & Applications

Overview

Key benefits

Discover the key benefits of the chain conveyors.

  • Robust & reliable — heavy-gauge, enclosed trough stands up to abrasive duty.
  • Clean & safe — dust-tight casing and protective hoods help keep the work area clean.
  • Wear-resistant flow path — HPME wear plates and C45 guides extend service life.
  • Process protection — overflow valve and positive chain tensioning reduce jams and slip.
  • Controlled discharge — intermediate outlets and inlet slide rails enable accurate flow to downstream steps.
  • Flexible execution — stainless (AISI 304), galvanized, and all-weather options for outdoor installs.
  • Safety & compliance — ATEX Zone 22 drive options for combustible dust areas.
  • Right-sized — multiple chain widths and speeds to achieve the target throughput.

Your questions answered

FAQ

Capacities up to 400 m³/h, depending on chain width and speed (typically 0.3–0.5 m/s; up to 0.6 m/s where appropriate).

Yes — select galvanized or stainless execution and all-weather kits (motor housings, covers).

Yes — ATEX Zone 22 drive units and associated components are available for combustible-dust areas.

Use intermediate outlets, inlet flow regulation slides, or a recirculation head when bypassing downstream steps.

The conveying path is protected by HPME wear plates and C45 guide strips to reduce wear and extend service intervals.
