History
Ottevanger is a company steeped in more than a century of Dutch engineering excellence and craftsmanship. While the associated industries, technologies and geographies have changed enormously since then, the core principles behind our business remain the same. We remain a family business, proud of our heritage, but always with a firm eye on the future.
Four generations, one goal
- Gen 1: Origins
It all began in 1909 when Dirk Ottevanger started a small business repairing and maintaining windmills in Moerkapelle, in the Netherlands.
- Gen 2: Diversification
In the 1930s, the second generation of Ottevangers diversified from flour into building industrial machinery and installations for local customers in the grain processing industry.
- Gen 3: Global expansion
Fast-forward to the 1960s, where the third-generation Ottevanger business began its global expansion – designing and equipping feed mills for operators all over the world while learning the many nuances of these local markets.
- Gen 4: International leadership
Today (since 2003) our company remains an independent, international operator and is overseen by the fourth generation of Ottevangers. Through the acquisition of liked-minded and complementary companies we deliver a complete feed mills solutions to hundreds of customers across 60 countries.

We move forward with a clear focus on the future, and we bring the full strength of our sister companies with us. Almex, Inteqnion, IVS and PTN now stand together under the Ottevanger name. Founded in 1974, PTN been a trusted pelleting partner to the feed industry for more than half a century. Now fully part of Ottevanger, the company and its solutions will now be even more closely integrated with our portfolio of Process Solutions, from intake to packaging.

IVS Dosing Technology not only has an outstanding 30-year track record in steam and liquid dosing, it’s also built on strong values (IVS equals Innovation, Service and Versatility) shared by Ottevanger and its sister companies. Almex
For exceptional extrusion.
While Ottevanger began its life repairing windmills, Almex – another family business – began in the early 1970s repairing and installing the extruders. Today, that has grown to a complete portfolio of high-quality extruders and expanders, valued by feed operators worldwide.
