A shared vision in feed innovation
I’Anson Brothers Ltd expanded its feed production capacity with a new factory at Dalton New Bridge in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The project represented the largest investment in the company’s long history and provided I’Anson with a modern production facility designed for efficient and flexible compound feed production.
The partnership between I’Anson and Ottevanger started well before construction began. Initial discussions about the new feed mill took place in 2013. I’Anson subsequently visited several feed mills designed and built by Ottevanger in the United Kingdom and across Europe before selecting Ottevanger for the project. The contract was signed in 2021, bringing together the fourth generations of two long-established family businesses.
The new facility complemented I’Anson’s existing production site in Masham and created additional capacity for both domestic and export markets. Ottevanger designed the plant with two completely separate production lines: one for cattle feed and one for poultry feed. Each line was designed for a production capacity of 30 tonnes per hour. The plant layout also incorporated space to double production capacity at the same location in the future. The cattle feed line included Ottevanger’s BOA Compacter technology, while dedicated steam dosing supported the conditioning process. Liquid dosing systems supplied liquids to the mixers and coaters.
Ottevanger was responsible for project management and supplied most of the main process equipment. The scope also included steam and liquid dosing technology as well as electrical control and process automation for the entire factory. TSC supplied the silos for raw material and finished feed storage. By integrating storage, processing, dosing and automation, the project provided I’Anson with a complete feed production facility designed for efficient operation and future expansion.
