IBC-based dosing with precise control
Berntsen Diervoeders, based in Wehl near Doetinchem, produces dry dog food in its own factory and sells pet products for dogs, cats, and rodents through its on-site shop. To support continued growth, Berntsen installed a new grinding and mixing line with five liquid dosing systems supplied by Ottevanger.
Ottevanger delivered and installed five liquid dosing systems connected to the mixer. An IBC setup with two stacked containers supplied four of these systems. The 1,250-litre IBC at the bottom served as a buffer tank. This setup provided sufficient time to replace the top IBC without interrupting production. The large buffer volume ensures continuous operation during at least one evening or night shift without requiring IBC replacement. An existing storage tank supplies the fifth dosing system. Rotary gear pumps and Promass flow meters ensure accurate dosing in all pump systems. Distributors introduce the liquids into the mixer, ensuring uniform distribution and improving product homogeneity and overall quality.
