Complete processing systems for premium pet nutrition

As the requirements for pet food processing continue to evolve, we offer a tailored approach that exceed expectations. This starts by thinking along with our customers to meet the specific needs of the individual markets being served, and then developing solutions that meet those needs. At Ottevanger there is no “standard” pet food plant design or solution. Every project is assessed on its own merits.

Our pet food range

A selection of our core solutions

Dog food

Dog food production is characterised by a wide range of product types, from dry kibble to wet food and treats. Trends such as grain-free diets, high fresh-meat recipes and functional nutrition require flexible systems that can handle diverse ingredients without compromising throughput.

Ottevanger’s hammer mills, paddle mixers, extruders and vacuum coaters are engineered to deliver uniform quality, strong palatability and efficient processing. Our technology ensures precise dosing, reliable extrusion and controlled coating, allowing manufacturers to produce everything from standard formulations to premium, meat-rich diets.

Cat food

Cats require highly digestible, protein-rich diets with specific amino acids such as taurine. Palatability is crucial, as consumer acceptance hinges on it. Product offerings include dry kibble, wet food, and specialised functional diets.

Ottevanger provides fine grinding and mixing solutions for small kibble, as well as extrusion and drying systems capable of handling high meat or fish inclusion. Our coating systems enhance palatability and nutritional delivery, ensuring a finished product that meets both feline needs and owner expectations.

Seed-based feed

Seed-based feed for pet and wild birds demands gentle handling, cleanliness and consistent quality. Mixtures often include sunflower, millet and canary seed, sometimes fortified with vitamins and minerals. Maintaining freshness, preventing breakage and ensuring dust-free packaging are key quality factors.

Ottevanger’s cleaners, gravity separators and mixing systems are designed for delicate seed processing. Our equipment ensures dust control, accurate blending and minimal breakage, while storage and packaging solutions support traceability and long shelf life.
