Local soybean processing for poultry and livestock feed
Bounty Farm Ltd. in Guyana expanded its feed production capabilities with a dedicated full-fat soya processing line supplied by Ottevanger. The installation has a production capacity of 8–10 t/h and enables the company to process locally available whole soybeans into a high-energy, high-protein feed ingredient.
Ottevanger is responsible for the complete project, including process design, equipment supply and process automation. The line combines conditioning, toasting and extrusion to provide controlled thermal treatment throughout the production process.
Whole soybeans first undergo thermal conditioning before being processed through the toaster and AL300 extruder. This treatment reduces antinutritive factors while retaining the beans’ natural oil content, producing full-fat soya for use in poultry and livestock feed.
The project builds on an existing partnership between Bounty Farm and Ottevanger. An earlier project included the delivery of a C20 containerised installation. The new 8–10 t/h processing line adds dedicated full-fat soya production capacity and gives Bounty Farm greater control over the ingredients used in its feed production.
