Screw conveyors

Screw conveyors are designed for the horizontal and slightly rising transportation of fine bulk cargo with a maximum diameter of +/- 15 mm.

The transport capacities and the number of products that can be conveyed by means of a screw are extremely high. The screw conveyor is applied in grain handling facilities, animal feed factories, in cattle fodder firms as a dose-feeding installation, in breweries, in the chemical industry and in many food producing industries. In some cases it can be used very well as an unloading device.

The screw conveyor consists of a tubular or U-shaped trough in which a shaft revolves, around which a screw-shaped ribbon is constructed. The ribbon moves the product, which has entered the trough, forward on the bottom of the trough towards the outlet(s). The product itself needs no revolve. The screw conveyor can be made with one or more intermediate outlets, apart from the outlet on the end of the trough (drive). The shaft with the welded helocoidal screw blade or helices is supported over fixed distances by means of intermediate bearings. Driving is applied by means of a drive group mounted on the end of the shaft. The drive group consists of a direct drive arrangement or a geared motor and a chain drive.
